WATERS

TAYLORS HOLE
Taylors Hole is the prime water of the Society .  It was first leased from the Local Authority in the 1960’s and since that time has developed into an excellent fishery. Initially the water was  developed as a specimen water with larger carp being the primary stocks. However,  since the 1990’s the water has become more of a general and match fishery with summer and winter league competitions. Stocks of different species have been added when considered appropriate. The water now contains  carp, tench, perch, bream, roach. Barbel and chub have been introduced on a trial basis.

The water does hold some very big perch which can show on occasions in the depths of winter.

PENNINGTON FLASH
Initially the angling rights on the Pennington Flash were held by a syndicate comprising the Leigh & District Angling Association, Izaak Walton Angling Society and Fir Tree Anglers. Although the angling rights are now in the hands of the Leigh & District Angling Association, IWAS members may fish on the flash if they show their paid up membership cards

PENNINGTON BROOK
The Society has had strong historical links with the Brook which holds some good chub, perch and roach. However its access is limited to only a small number of areas.
