DEATH OF JAMES SIMPSON AND CREMATION DETAILS
It is with the greatest regret that I report the passing away of our Secretary James Simpson in Hospital today (14th September 2026).
James, affectionally known as Jim has been a well respected member of the Society for over 40 years, and has acted as secretary for many years. Jim was well respected, conscientious and a dedicated family man; he will be sadly missed by all our members and by the members of his family.
Rest in peace old friend and thank you for all that you have done for the Society

Welcome to the web site of the Izaak Walton Angling Society – Leigh. The Society was founded in 1927 and is primarily for anglers who wish to become active members of the Society; attending meetings and social events, helping on working parties to improve our waters and attending matches. Meetings take place the first Tuesday in each month except January when our Annual General Meeting takes place on the second Tuesday.
